Dr. Pacem Kotchofa, a Social Scientist Post-Doctoral Fellow at the International Water Management Institute (IWMI), a MARIS partner, participated in the 2022 World Food Forum Flagship Event under the theme: “Healthier Diet, Healthier Planet.” Organized at the UN Food and Agriculture (FAO) Headquarters in Rome, Italy, from 17th to 21st October 2022, the event had three components: Youth actions—Science and Innovation—Hand in Hand investments.
As part of the Youth Action segment, and alongside two of her fellow FAO Young Scientists, Andrea Rosso & Craig Chibanda, Pacem gave a presentation on how marginalized social groups, especially women, can represent an essential asset in addressing climate change effects.
Dr. Kotchofa discussed the dynamic intersectionality between Agriculture, Climate Change, Outmigration, Women, and Rural Transformation, building on her work and interactions across different countries under the EU Horizon 2020-funded AGRUMIG project.
